In Ford Motor Company's new Government Affairs D.C. office, the aesthetic is clear. Local architecture firm Wingate Hughes, the group behind TrackMaven, iStrategy Labs, Opotoro and other DC Tech digs, pulled from the automobile company's rich industrial history in its latest office. In the front lobby, the reception area's alcove bench evokes memories of Ford's 1950s car models and imitates an actual Ford seat. Wall hangings feature Mustang and other model wall graphics in offices and restrooms. The 18,000 square-foot space is located downtown off of Pennsylvania Avenue. “We hear over and over again, ‘I’ve never seen a representation of the Ford and Lincoln logo together that way and done so well,’” said Gavin Wingate Bowie, co-founding principal of Wingate Hughes Architects. “I think we hit the mark.” Images courtesy of Wingate Hughes
